Volunteer uniform collection day for the Paris 2024 Olympics
Martina collects her kit for her volunteer position at the Paris 2024 Olympics …
The uniform for the 45,000 volunteers at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has been available for pick-up since 27 May, and today, 4 July, it was my turn.
The Games will be held from 26 July to 11 August and for the Paralympics from 28 August to 8 September.
The first stop was the Accreditation badge/ID collection hall at the Parc des Expositions de la Porte de Versailles and the second stop, nearby, was the Decathlon Volunteer Uniform Distribution Centre.
The unisex uniform, created by the French brand Decathlon, is inspired by the Art Deco period in Paris from 1910 to 1939, notable for the colours green, pink, and white. It is also a reference to the previous Paris Olympics a hundred years ago in 1924.
The free uniform kit has the following items:
· Large sports bag in the volunteer colours (green, pink, and white)
· Small waist bag/fanny pack
· Pair of white sneakers
· 4 pairs of socks (2 green pairs and 2 pink pairs)
· 2 pairs of green trousers (that can be zipped off to make shorts)
· 4 short-sleeved green tops
· Beige windbreaker jacket with a detachable sleeveless zip-up vest
· Wide-brimmed bucket hat.
Thanks so much Maureen; great to hear from you.
